2008 Consumer Electronics Show Will Assimilate Las Vegas This January
(PRWEB) September 30, 2007 -- With over 2,700 exhibitors at CES 2008 and more than 140,000 attendees already confirmed, Las Vegas will be a busy place for the three days of the Consumer Electronics Show in January. This year's show in 2008 is over 10 times the size of the CES debut in New York 1967.
Assuming a large number of CES attendees will be there a few days before and after the show, hotel rooms will be hard to find that week. Booking ahead of time would be a wise move for anyone planning a vacation or weekend getaway in the first half of January 2008.
We recommend booking with Travel Worm, a local Las Vegas travel agent... http://www.lasvegashoteladvice.com/reservations
CES Overview: Here's a birds eye view of important websites, locations where the show is being held and a few facts and history of the CES.

List of top products from the last 9 years www.rossross.net/Site/Resources/CE/Ces/CES2008.htm
Show Locations * Las Vegas Convention Center * Sands Expo and Convention Center / The Venetian * Las Vegas Hilton
What to expect this year: With 153 registered companies listed, there will be very few participants yawning. Each location will have their specific product categories with 37 product categories in total. For instance the South Halls 3-4, Upper Level in the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) will host Gaming exhibits.
Some of the high profile products that have debuted at CES over the years * Video cassette Recorder (VCR), 1970 * Laser disc Player, 1974 * Camcorder, 1981 * Compact Disc Player, 1981 * Mini Disc, 1993 * Digital Satellite System, 1994 * Digital Versatile Disk (DVD), 1996 * High Definition Television (HDTV), 1998 * Microsoft Xbox, 2001 * Plasma TV, 2001 * HDTV PVR, 2003
Attendance Requirements: After speaking with an operator working at CES headquarters we discovered that only those people working in the electronics industry will be allowed entry. (sales staff included) Valid ID must be presented at the door, proving employment or affiliation with an electronics retail or wholesale outlet
Booking a hotel room for those not attending CES will be far more difficult than usual. Advice from travel agents we've contacted indicates there will be few if any rooms available soon for the first two weeks of 2008. Most hotels are booking that time slot faster than usual.
